The D.C. Chapter is an autonomous local chapter of the AMS. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.
The 2009-2010 Chapter year runs from September 1, 2010 to August 31, 2011. Your membership is valid from the time you join to the end of the current chapter year (August 31). If you join after March 1, your membership will "officially" begin the following September (the start of the next Chapter year, although you will have member privileges for the remainder of the current Chapter year).
DC-AMS Chapter dues are separate from National AMS dues. To pay your AMS dues, proceed to http://ametsoc.org/memb/index.html.

Those eligible for the education membership include teachers (K-12), students, and members of other local AMS Chapters. When joining/renewing, please indicate your school affiliation on the form.
